About Yeraldy

Yeraldy Gomez serves as a regional sales specialist for Roland Foods, a role she began approximately one month ago after two decades in the hospitality industry. She oversees four states, traveling to connect with restaurants and distributors while promoting the Roland brand. Gomez draws inspiration from her father, who cooked professionally for over 35 years after moving from Mexico, and she earned her culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago in 2010. She previously belonged to the American Culinary Federation for two years and values honesty and transparency in client relationships, always providing alternative options when needed. Gomez has volunteered with Lori's Children's Hospital through National Root Beer Float Day events, an initiative she supported while working at the Marriott. As a woman in a male-dominated field, she emphasizes working hard and giving others a reason to say yes even after initial rejections.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Yeraldy

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Work hard. Especially being a woman in a male-dominated industry, there's gonna be so many people saying you can't do it. We always as women have to take an extra 2 or 3 steps just to stand out or be seen as equals. Even if somebody says no, give them a reason to say yes.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

If the door's open, go. As long as you have at least one or two people behind you pushing you and saying go, you got this, you can do this, you can really open any door. The sky's the limit.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being honest and being transparent. Telling clients what we can do and what we can't do, and giving them other options if we can't help. This sets up a great partnership.
