In her current role, Yessenia supports contractors, builders, and homeowners by coordinating materials, solving problems, and ensuring projects stay on track from warehouse to jobsite. 01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success primarily to my resilience and my willingness to start over without fear, regardless of the failures I have faced. I approach every morning as a clean slate, choosing to continually move forward rather than dwell on past setbacks. This mindset has allowed me to treat every obstacle as a learning experience and maintain the momentum necessary to achieve long-term growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is, "It's okay to cry. Just keep on going. Don't stop." This simple but powerful insight taught me that experiencing difficult emotions isn't a sign of weakness, but rather a normal part of the professional journey. It gave me the permission to feel the weight of challenges without letting them halt my progress or dictate my ultimate destination.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field is to never allow yourselves to get discouraged and to actively seek out the right people who will truly value your worth. You can achieve incredible success by leveraging a unique combination of thorough attention to detail, a soft-spoken and caring manner, and deep product knowledge. Using these strengths will allow you to build exceptionally strong, trust-based professional relationships that set you apart.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge I currently face is navigating rising costs and inflation, which make it increasingly difficult to offer competitive pricing to our clients while simultaneously protecting our profit margins. However, this environment also presents a massive opportunity; by leveraging robust training programs and gaining deep, broad product knowledge, we can better support contractors and ultimately expand our capabilities to supply everything needed to build a house from the ground up.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that anchor me both professionally and personally are honesty, strong morals, and unwavering ethical standards. I place a high premium on meticulous attention to detail and possess a firm willingness to take the less-traveled path if it means doing the job the right way. For me, integrity and quality will always take precedence over convenience.
