Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to the guidance and support I’ve received along the way. One mentor who had a profound impact on me was my high school counselor. Their encouragement, guidance, and the opportunities they provided helped me navigate the path to higher education and laid the foundation for the career I have today.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the helping professions is to carefully assess your capacity for managing the emotional demands of the work. This field requires genuine passion and commitment—it’s not driven by financial reward. It’s also important to be aware that the work can sometimes uncover or trigger personal experiences or trauma, so self-awareness and self-care are essential for sustaining a long and meaningful career.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life center on purpose, mentorship, and leaving a meaningful legacy. One example of this is the legacy circle I created with eight young women in my field. While I didn’t initially understand why I was called to do it, I now recognize it as a divine assignment—an opportunity to guide, support, and inspire the next generation.
