Her Story
About Yordanka
I've dedicated over two decades to the hospitality industry, where recruiting and connecting with people has always been my true passion. Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work with exceptional brands, iconic hotels, and inspiring leaders who have helped shape both my professional path and personal growth.
In August 2022, I joined Highgate, one of the leading hospitality companies in the industry, s Regional Recruiter overseeing the Southeast region, and it has been an incredibly rewarding chapter in my career. I'm grateful to be part of an organization that truly values talent, potential, and professional development while providing the tools and guidance needed to succeed. Highgate has given me the unique opportunity to continue doing what I love most, connecting with hospitality professionals, supporting future industry leaders, engaging with our communities, and contributing to meaningful and impactful change across our industry.

Ten minutes with Yordanka
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success is rooted in consistency, passion for people, and a deep commitment to hospitality. Over the years, I've learned that showing up with discipline and integrity, even in fast-paced and high-pressure environments, builds trust and long-term impact.
I attribute a great deal of my growth to the mentors and leaders I've had the privilege to work with throughout my career. Their guidance helped me refine my craft, stay curious, and continuously elevate my standards.
Equally important is my family support. Without them, I would not be where I am today. Their encouragement, understanding, and belief in me have been the foundation that allows me to pursue my passion and stay committed through every stage of my journey.
At my core, I'm very people-driven, recruiting is not just about filling roles, but about connecting talent with opportunity and helping shape future leaders in hospitality. That sense of purpose continues to inspire me every single day.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
When I think about young women entering hospitality, I think about the version of myself, or so many of us in this industry, who walked in excited, a little unsure, but full of ambition.
My first piece of advice is don 't underestimate yourself in the beginning. In hospitality, you may start in entry-level roles, but your mindset from day one matters more than your title. I learned early that how you show up, your attitude, your willingness to step in, your consistency, can open doors faster than anything else.
I've also learned that relationships are everything. Some of my biggest career moments didn't come from just doing the job well, but from how I treated people along the way. Be kind, be dependable, and stay professional even on the hardest days. People will always remember how you made them feel. Most importantly, stay open. My own path in hospitality has not been linear, and the best opportunities I've had came from saying yes to things I didn't fully feel ready for at the time. Growth often looks like discomfort before it looks like confidence.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
For me, the most important values in my work and personal life are integrity, respect, and relationships. Integrity is non-negotiable for me. I believe in doing things the right way, even when it's not the easiest path. Respect is another core value. I try to treat everyone I interact with the same way, whether it's a candidate, a colleague, or a leader. You never really know what someone is going through, and I've learned that how you make people feel stays with them.
Relationships mean a lot to me, both professionally and personally. A big part of me career has been built on genuine connections, mentors, teams, and candidates who have become long-term relationships. And personally, my family keeps me grounded. They're my biggest support system and a constant reminder of why I work hard and stay committed to what I do. Overall, I try to lead with consistency, kindness, and purpose in everything I do.
