Her Story
About Yvenide
Behind every title I carry today, there's a story to it, one that's shaped by courage, sacrifice, and starting over. As an immigrant woman, my journey was not the straight path. It was built on blessing, grit, and determination. What really drives me is creating something meaningful, which is why I built my own academy. I came from an immigrant background, and honestly, when I got the message about this recognition, I thought, my goodness, I wish I had found something like this before. My journey shows that no matter where you start, there's always the power to inspire someone else to begin. I'm forever grateful to this country because they gave me the opportunity to be who I always wanted to be in life. I know success doesn't always look perfect, but persistence is what matters. My biggest achievement is having my own academy, creating a space where people can learn without having to frustrate themselves about finding grants or paying tens of thousands of dollars like traditional schools. I took what I know and combined it with other classmates, team members, and coworkers to bring hands-on training and things we've learned throughout our course of life into this academy. It's a self-paced program where you can teach yourself, but I also have an open-door policy where you can reach out to me via email or call, and we can set up time if there's anything you need more clarification on, with no extra charge.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Come and do it, because the sky is not even the limit. First of all, I will say don't wait to feel ready, because you don't need to check every box before applying or starting. I was among 20,000 students that they had to review applications, and only a small number of women made it to the rank of my position. Tech is very huge, so don't stay vague into it. Choose your direction, meaning like if you want to do cybersecurity, if you want to do software development, if you want to do data analytics, pick something specific. I would say the degree will help, but tech rewards what you can actually do, so focus on something that you really, really love to do. And find rooms where you're not the only one.
