Her Story
About YVETTE
Yvette Ces owns a digital marketing agency that she established in 2023, following a career spanning more than 20 years in advertising and marketing that began after she graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication. During her studies, she completed courses in business, marketing, advertising, and PR, and she has since earned professional certificates in data analytics, digital marketing, and AI machine learning. Prior to founding her agency, she gained extensive experience working with large FinTech and advertising agencies, where she contributed to brand growth and supported small businesses with financial technology solutions. She has collaborated with nonprofits to educate women entrepreneurs on financial literacy and digital marketing strategies to help improve their businesses. Ces attributes her success to being driven by financial necessity as a self-made entrepreneur supporting herself and her family, as well as her Christian faith, which guides her to use her skills to help others. She emphasizes integrity as her core value, advocating for sincerity and honesty with clients and colleagues while avoiding corporate politics, advice she received from a previous mentor and CEO. In her industry, she notes high competition among agencies and the misconception that AI can fully replace human expertise, relying instead on her years of hands-on experience to deliver results through personal guidance.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with YVETTE
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being driven by necessity as a self-made entrepreneur needing to sustain myself financially and help my family, combined with my Christian faith that skills and knowledge are given to help others and improve ourselves.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received is to be sincere and honest with clients and colleagues, avoiding corporate politics by doing work with honesty, as shared by my previous mentor and CEO.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I advise women entering the industry to prove themselves without getting bitter, especially in patriarchal organizations, by showing what they can do as motivation rather than seeing it as a challenge.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include high competition from many digital marketing agencies and businesses believing AI can replace human teams, though experts are still needed for hand-holding and good results. My edge comes from years of experience with big FinTech and advertising agencies.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the number one value for me in both work and personal life, meaning being honest in dealings, avoiding shortcuts, and making everything as good as possible.
