Her Story
About Yvonne
I've been in property management for 21 years as of August, and I didn't even go to school for it - I learned on the job. I've spent 10 years in senior leasing and 10 years in property management, working with HUD, tax credits, Section 8, and conventional housing. I have more fun doing the distressed properties, which most people don't want, because I get to solve real problems in the community. When people don't know how to pay bills, I bring in credit counselors for town halls. When residents need better jobs, I help with resume writing and connect them to opportunities. I'm all into AI and getting people Google degrees that are free. I'm currently rebranding Virtual Home Solutions and creating my own lane in multifamily housing - something that's going to make the industry say 'why didn't we think of this?' I'm also a metastatic breast cancer thriver, not survivor, because we thrive. My daughter has lupus, and we're both navigating this journey together. This work is spiritual to me - I've worked very hard for 21 years to make sure people have their homes, and I always invest in my properties and spread positivity.

01What do you attribute your success to?
This is spiritual. I've worked very hard for 21 years to make sure people have their homes. The only group I belong to is Jesus, and I just make sure I spread it at my properties. I never leave - I stay committed even when things get tough. When I took on that property between a mission and a methadone clinic with squatters and homeless people, it looked like I gave up when I finally left, and I felt defeat. But going through this journey now, it's reminding me of who I am. This is a whole spiritual thing more than anything to me. I don't feel like I had any influence - I just be me. I love working and I always bring positivity.
