Her Interview

Ten minutes with Yvonne

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying grounded in my purpose and never losing sight of why I entered this profession—to educate, serve, and create opportunities for others. I’ve been blessed with mentors, meaningful relationships, and experiences that have continually challenged me to grow, and I’ve learned that every season of life offers another opportunity to become a better leader.

Above all, I believe success is measured not only by our own accomplishments, but by the lives we influence and the people we help develop. When we invest in others, we create a ripple effect that extends far beyond ourselves.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was to never ignore that inner voice. It has often pointed me toward opportunities I hadn’t considered and, just as importantly, away from opportunities that weren’t aligned with my purpose.

I’ve learned that success isn’t about saying yes to everything—it’s about having the courage to follow the direction that allows you to make your greatest impact. When your purpose leads the way, the right opportunities tend to follow.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Get the education and knowledge you need before you pursue success. Learn the business, find your niche, and most importantly, discover your purpose. When your purpose is to serve, educate, and advocate for others, success becomes a natural byproduct rather than the goal itself.

Coming from a community where access to information and homeownership resources wasn’t always readily available, I’ve seen firsthand how knowledge can change the trajectory of a person’s life. Position yourself to be more than a salesperson—be a trusted resource who helps people recognize opportunities they may have never known existed. That’s how you build a meaningful career and leave a lasting impact.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest challenges in real estate today is helping people connect with the right opportunities and resources. Too often, buyers, sellers, and homeowners make decisions without realizing the programs, strategies, and professionals available to help them achieve better outcomes. Education is the bridge that transforms uncertainty into opportunity.

At the same time, I believe our greatest opportunity is reminding people that real estate remains one of the most reliable paths to building long-term wealth. Regardless of market conditions, there is almost always a strategy that allows someone to move forward—whether through homeownership, investing, leveraging equity, or making informed financial decisions. My role is to help people recognize those opportunities and empower them to confidently take the next step toward creating their future.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my work and my personal life are integrity, lifelong learning, service, and relationships. I believe integrity is the foundation of trust, and trust is the foundation of every meaningful relationship. Whether I’m serving a client, mentoring a colleague, or advocating for my community, I want people to know they can depend on my character as much as my expertise.

I also believe we should never stop learning. Every new experience, challenge, and opportunity expands our ability to serve others more effectively. Ultimately, I measure success not by what I achieve alone, but by the opportunities I help create for others. When we lead with purpose, continue to grow, and invest in people, we leave an impact that extends far beyond our own accomplishments.
