Ten minutes with Zulema
01What do you attribute your success to?
My ability to think in systems, not silos—and my willingness to take responsibility without taking things personally. I combine technical rigor with psychological insight, which allows me to navigate complexity without losing perspective.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
“Clarity is kinder than over-functioning.” Once I understood that doing more isn’t the same as doing what matters, my career accelerated—and so did my peace.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Competence will get you in the room. Boundaries will keep you there. Don’t confuse over-accommodation with professionalism—your clarity is part of your value.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenge is unmanaged complexity and burnout disguised as agility. The opportunity is designing systems that respect both scale and humans—using automation, governance, and AI thoughtfully instead of reactively.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, accountability, and discernment. I value environments where truth is welcomed, responsibility is shared, and growth doesn’t require self-erasure.
