Amanda Cosman: woman, we need to keep pushing forward to help lift each other up.
What does being an Influential Woman mean to you?
Amanda Cosman: What does being an influential woman mean to me? Um, I'm honored as a woman, uh, to be chosen for this, and as a woman, we need to keep pushing forward to help lift each other up. This week, I had the privilege of attending, um, our Women in Leadership Summit for Lowe's. It's something that we do. Every year, um, and I try to go to as many of them as possible. Um, it's a great opportunity for me to get in front of young females and young female leaders and push them, right? So, this particular one reminded me that we all have similar journeys and stories and influential women stand out by just having a passion and a drive. They can be anybody, so a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a boss, uh, just as I've looked up to other women throughout the course of my life and career, I'm actually finding that other women are starting to look up to me now, so it's an amazing thing to be able to do the same thing for others. Uh, we need to bring each other up to where we are by supporting each other.
What's one piece advice would you give to younger women chasing their dreams?
Amanda Cosman: One piece of advice that I would give to other women, uh, chasing their dreams is to remember that You're not alone. Um, other women think the same things that you're gonna think. Uh, we've been through similar situations, so don't be afraid to get yourself a good support team of women that you can talk to. Some can be mentors, others can be your friends. Just make sure that you surround yourself with women who empower you. They keep you grounded, and they remind you how resilient you are. A team that's really gonna help you get back up when you fall.

Based in the Albany, New York area, Amanda plays a key role in driving operational excellence, supporting in-home services, and building strong connections with her teams and customers across the district. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her hands-on leadership style, commitment to team development, and passion for delivering results—often celebrating store wins and championing associates’ successes across social platforms.
Amanda's journey at Lowe’s spans nearly 21 years, during which she has held various leadership roles including District Manager for In-Home Services and District Services Sales Manager. Her background in liberal arts, with degrees from both Marist College and Dutchess Community College, complements her ability to connect with people and lead with empathy. Outside of work, Amanda previously worked as a Zumba instructor, showcasing her vibrant energy and dedication to wellness and community. Her professional ethos blends customer focus, team empowerment, and continuous improvement—a formula that continues to drive her impact in the retail and services industry.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to have persistence and stay open to opportunities—even the unexpected ones can lead to incredible growth.

Don’t be afraid to move into a male dominated Industy and take your seat at any table you belong to.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Not enough females in highly sought out Management positions.
