Her Interview

Ten minutes with Diane

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my lived experiences and the challenges I’ve overcome. My pain has been a major source of motivation throughout my life, shaping my resilience and drive. Now that I’ve worked through much of that trauma, I’m learning to redefine what motivates me and how to continue growing in a healthier, more intentional way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received was to find a mentor. One of my earliest clients, whom I worked with through a temp agency, recognized my potential as a young entrepreneur and offered to guide me. He was a successful business owner with multiple ventures, and I gladly accepted his mentorship. Through him, I learned valuable lessons about business, leadership, and the importance of taking care of employees, all of which have shaped how I lead today.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to not limit yourself to job titles or predefined roles. It’s easy to overlook opportunities because the title doesn’t seem to fit, but when you look closely at the job requirements, you’ll often find that you already have many of the skills being sought. I encourage you to focus on your skill set, stay open-minded, and apply confidently to roles where you meet the qualifications, even if the title doesn’t perfectly match your expectations.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in my field is the stigma that coaching is not always taken seriously, despite its real impact on helping people through personal and professional transitions. Many still see it as unnecessary, even though clients often find it essential for gaining clarity, support, and direction. At the same time, the biggest opportunity lies in growth through word-of-mouth and referrals, as more clients experience the value of coaching and continue to share it with others, leading to increasing demand and recognition of its importance.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is my most important value in both my work and personal life. I was raised to believe that without integrity, you have very little foundation to stand on. I take pride in upholding it in everything I do, and it is reflected in my strong work ethic, the way I communicate with clients, and the long-term relationships I’ve been able to build and maintain.
