Julie Kestner is a certified life, health, and career coach and seasoned copywriter who brings nearly two decades of experience in communication into her work helping others grow. After spending 16 years as a copywriter and copy editor, she was presented with an unexpected opportunity to pivot her career, following an acquisition-related layoff during the pandemic. Rather than trying to fit back into existing spaces and systems, she chose to lean into a longtime heart-knowing need to create a supportive, wellness-based space and provide ways forward for people who feel unacknowledged, like they’ve fallen through the cracks. This led her to build a new professional direction centered on helping others incorporate sustainable, meaningful change into their lives.

Guided by consistent feedback from those around her, Julie recognized that her natural strengths in positivity, encouragement, and the ability to connect, could serve a greater purpose. She pursued formal training through the Health Coach Institute, earning dual certification as both a health coach and life coach, and later expanded her knowledge with additional certification in career coaching. Today, she is the founder of Through the Cracks Coaching LLC, where she works with clients one-on-one to help them integrate health and wellness into their daily lives, with a focus on empowered and compassionate living. Julie helps clients envision the life they know they’re meant to live, clarify goals, and take intentional, aligned action toward personal and professional growth, while providing them with dedicated support and accountability along the way. Holding that space for those who feel unseen and unheard, which often includes thorough thinkers and deep processors, is an essential component of Through the Cracks Coaching.

Alongside her coaching practice, Julie continues to draw on her deep roots in copywriting and editing, seamlessly blending both disciplines into her work. She creates all of the content for her business, from website copy and resources to social media and client communications, ensuring that her messaging remains authentic, accessible, and impactful. By combining her expertise in communication with her love for supporting people with personal development and helping them see their gifts and the opportunities that can open up for them, Julie offers a unique, holistic approach that empowers individuals to build confidence, develop lasting positive habit change, and move forward with clarity, compassion, and purpose.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I think there are a few components to it. First, support. I think having a solid foundation of support not only helps you build confidence and resilience, but it's essentially just what sets you up for success and to thrive in life. Whether you're fortunate enough to have that come from your family, friends, coworkers, or to have any at all, which through coaching, I've found out so many people don't have, I think that's absolutely key. Second, when it comes down to me, in front of my laptop, working alone, I've always been self-motivated and perseverant, especially when I have a clear vision of what I want to accomplish. I'm thankful to be able to laser-focus and commit consistently to doing the work to develop my visions and follow through with my goals, and especially to get back up and keep trying when certain approaches don't work, I get offtrack, or when my visions and goals change. I know how to tune in, listen to my body, and notice that when I'm working toward what's aligned, I have ample energy and motivation to do it, and my energy flows. That's like my green light for letting my self-motivation and perseverance do their thing.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to wholeheartedly trust that you know, better than anyone else, what's right and best for you. This is a huge part of my coaching, and I think it's valuable advice for anyone starting out.
