What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work, my educational background, and my active involvement with organizations like CSI, SCIP, and the IES, which have helped shape my skills and confidence. Additionally, I think a healthy curiosity and a desire to explore new things has been crucial. I also have been fortunate to have great mentors along the way.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was to go fully apply myself, knowing that dedication to learning—not only in school, but also on the job—would create lasting opportunities. A close second was to consider how new and developing technologies can improve not only my work product, but that of my employer as well.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to be open to new ideas and new technology and consider how it can be best leveraged in your role and in your field. Also, look at potential solutions from various points of view—don't focus too narrowly on one. And most important, be curious!
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think the impact of AI will present both a challenge and an opportunity. It's important to embrace new technology and leverage it as best you can, but at the same time, it is important to maintain a healthy skepticism. Being an early adopter can be great—but can also derail you.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One of the values I hold most important in both my work and personal life is a strong commitment to working hard and contributing meaningfully to the success of my team and organization.
