About Rivka
Rivka Leyton is the Co-Founder of VentRight, a residential and commercial air duct and dryer vent cleaning company serving customers in New York. Since co-founding the business in April 2017, she has helped develop its operations and customer service approach, emphasizing reliable service delivery, transparent pricing, clear communication, and minimal disruption to clients. Her work focuses on business operations, customer relationships, service quality, and business growth. Through VentRight, she helps customers maintain clean ventilation systems while promoting the importance of routine dryer vent and HVAC duct cleaning.
Rivka's professional journey reflects her willingness to embrace opportunities, learn new industries, and grow through practical experience. She began her career in sales while attending college, working in cold calling and helping a company double in size within her first two years. Her performance led to a promotion to operations manager and subsequently an opportunity to join the leadership team as the business expanded. Although she did not complete her college studies at Queens College, she continued developing her professional skills through management courses, leadership courses, and QuickBooks training. She also earned a Certified Dryer Vent Technician credential through the Chimney Safety Institute of America in October 2022. Her experience has helped shape her approach to business development, operations, customer service, and professional networking.
Beyond her business responsibilities, Rivka supports numerous nonprofit organizations through VentRight and participates in property management networking communities. She values building meaningful professional relationships and learning from experienced business leaders. As a mother of four, she prioritizes spending quality time with her children, particularly through cooking and outdoor activities. Her professional philosophy centers on taking calculated opportunities, believing in oneself, and remaining confident in environments where women may be underrepresented. Through her leadership and community involvement, Rivka continues to focus on business growth, dependable customer service, and building strong relationships across her industry.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Rivka
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the people who recognized my potential and encouraged me to take opportunities, even when I lacked direct experience in the industry. I trusted the judgment of people whose business expertise I respected and took a leap into an unfamiliar field. Being in an environment where I could learn about business, develop new skills, and grow professionally has been instrumental in my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is not to be afraid to try. Believe in yourself and give opportunities a chance, because if you never try, the answer will always be no. Taking that first step creates the possibility of success, even when the outcome is uncertain.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women not to be intimidated by industries traditionally dominated by men. Believe in your abilities, be confident in expressing your ideas, and make your voice heard. Build relationships through networking, communicate your value, and trust yourself enough to pursue opportunities, even when you are entering unfamiliar territory.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is central to my life. As a mother of four, I enjoy cooking and spending time outdoors with my children. These activities are an important part of my life outside work.
