Theresa Shook is an accomplished entertainment and themed environment designer with a remarkable career shaping immersive experiences across the globe. With over two decades of experience in scenic and show set design, she has contributed to some of the world’s most iconic themed attractions, including work with Walt Disney Imagineering on projects like Na’vi River Journey in Pandora – The World of Avatar and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. Theresa brings a strong foundation in art direction, master planning, and production development, with expertise that spans from themed retail installations to large-scale attractions and healthcare environments. Her attention to detail and ability to translate stories into physical spaces make her a leader in her field.

After serving as a Senior Show Set Designer and Design Standards Manager at AOA, where she spearheaded comprehensive scenic packages and company-wide documentation standards, Theresa took on a new role as a Professor of Themed Entertainment and Production Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2025. She now channels her knowledge into mentoring the next generation of creative professionals. Her educational background includes an MFA in Set Design from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and additional training from the Gnomon School of Visual Effects, further supporting her holistic approach to storytelling through design.

Theresa is driven by a passion for collaboration, storytelling, and creating meaningful guest experiences. Whether designing attractions for theme parks in Saudi Arabia or reimagining healthcare environments in partnership with AdventHealth, she combines creative vision with technical expertise to deliver projects that delight, inspire, and innovate. With a career that reflects both leadership and creativity, Theresa Shook continues to shape the future of immersive environments and themed entertainment.
