Amy Su: Senior Project Engineer, Boeing Defense, Space & Security
Amy Su, PMP is managing some of the most ambitious space exploration programs in recent history. Having recently joined Boeing Defense, Space & Security as Senior Project Engineer, she works with Space Launch System (SLS) Program’s Propulsion Team and suppliers to sustain production rate increases in alignment with NASA’s manifest acceleration objectives for the Artemis Program.
Her trajectory to this pivotal role reflects a career marked by continuous growth across aerospace, aviation, and industrial engineering. With an extensive background spanning multiple continents and industry sectors, Amy has developed a global reputation for driving operational excellence, leading complex programs, and executing large-scale transformation projects.
As Senior Program Manager at VACCO Industries, she oversaw space programs supporting NASA's Artemis Mission with Space Launch System (SLS) and Orion, positioning herself at the forefront of humanity's return to the Moon and beyond.
At Senior Aerospace SSP, she successfully drove execution of the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of Bleed Air Duct System and APU Exhaust Duct Assembly for the United States Air Force's T-7A Trainer Program. When the company created its Space Business Unit, she spearheaded multiple space programs supporting NASA's Artemis mission and key commercial space clients including Blue Origin and Northrop Grumman.
Her tenure at GE Aviation showcased technical excellence and process innovation. Serving as Site Lean Leader and Senior Operations Manager, she earned her Master Black Belt certification and received the GE Aviation Engineering Process Excellence Award for driving digitization and process efficiency across the Flight Test Operation.
Amy's career began as a production engineer at Michelin, quickly advancing to an expatriate role at Michelin's headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand in the Directorate of Asia Operations. She then joined Air France-KLM, advancing through leadership roles from managing aircraft modification programs to directing business development strategy. Her work establishing AFI KLM E&M Components China demonstrates her global mindset and ability to lead within multicultural environments.
A Project Management Professional (PMP) certified since 2019 and an alumna of Purdue University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she brings technical expertise and strategic vision to every role. When asked what she attributes her success to, she offers a refreshingly honest perspective: finding joy in life and maintaining the resilience to get back up each time she falls.
