A Woman Can Be Soft, Feminine, and Still Be a Force to Be Reckoned With
Why You Don't Have to Choose Between Being Strong and Being Soft
For the longest time, women have been made to feel like we have to choose who we want to be.
Be ambitious, but not intimidating. Be confident, but not too outspoken. Be successful, but don't forget to be humble. Be a wonderful mother, but somehow manage to have everything else figured out, too.
And somewhere along the way, we forget something important.
We don't have to choose. We can be all of it.
I am a mother, a leader in luxury hospitality, a woman who loves learning, growing, challenging herself, and chasing goals that sometimes seem bigger than life itself.
And I am also a woman who loves being feminine, who believes in kindness, who values elegance, and who isn't afraid to show emotion.
None of those things make me less capable of being a strong leader.
In fact, I believe they make me stronger.
Being a Strong Woman Doesn't Mean Being a Hard Woman
Working in luxury hospitality has taught me something that goes far beyond beautiful dining rooms, exceptional service, and five-star standards.
True leadership isn't about being the loudest person in the room. It's about how you make people feel, how you carry yourself under pressure, and how you treat others when nobody is watching.
You can lead with grace and still have high expectations.
You can be compassionate and still hold people accountable.
You can be approachable and still command respect.
And you can be beautifully feminine while being an absolute badass at what you do.
Strength and softness were never meant to be opposites.
Motherhood Didn't End My Ambition. It Gave It a Bigger Purpose.
As a mother, I know what it's like to have a thousand things on your mind while still showing up for your responsibilities, your career, and your dreams.
Some days are exhausting. Some days don't go according to plan. And sometimes, the biggest accomplishment is simply making it through the day knowing you gave it your best.
But I never want my children to grow up believing that becoming a mother means a woman must stop dreaming for herself.
I want them to see a woman who works hard, continues her education, makes mistakes, learns from them, and keeps moving forward.
Not because I have everything figured out.
But because I refuse to stop growing.
I want my children to understand that success isn't handed to you. It's built through discipline, courage, sacrifice, and the willingness to start again when things don't work out.
Stop Waiting for Permission to Become More
One thing I wish more women understood is that you don't need to have your entire life figured out before pursuing something bigger.
Apply for that position.
Take that course.
Start that business.
Walk into rooms where you feel completely out of your comfort zone.
You might not be the most experienced person there. You might not know every answer. And yes, you might fail.
But what if you succeed?
What if the opportunity you've been talking yourself out of is exactly the opportunity that changes your life?
I've learned that confidence doesn't always come before taking action. Sometimes, confidence is built because you were brave enough to try.
And that's something I want every young woman to remember.
We Need More Women Who Lift Each Other Up
I don't believe another woman's success takes anything away from mine.
There is room for all of us.
Room for the woman building a business. Room for the mother returning to school. Room for the young woman starting her career. Room for the woman rebuilding her life at 40, 50, or beyond.
We all have different stories, different struggles, and different definitions of success.
Imagine how much more powerful we could become if we spent less time comparing ourselves and more time encouraging one another.
Sometimes, one genuine compliment, one opportunity, or one person saying, "I believe in you," can change someone's entire direction.
That's influence.
Not the number of followers you have. Not the title on your business card. Not how much money you make.
But the impact you have on the people around you.
The Woman I'm Becoming
I'm still learning. I'm still growing. And I certainly don't have all the answers.
There are so many things I want to accomplish, places I want to go, and dreams I haven't even begun to pursue.
But I've stopped believing that I need to become someone completely different to achieve them.
I can be ambitious and compassionate.
I can be elegant and fearless.
I can be a devoted mother and a woman with big professional dreams.
I can be soft-hearted and incredibly strong.
And so can you.
So, to every woman reading this: stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable. Stop apologizing for wanting more out of life. And stop believing that your dreams have an expiration date.
Be kind. Be graceful. Be educated. Be fearless.
And when life challenges you, remind yourself of exactly who you are.
Because the world doesn't need more women trying to fit into someone else's definition of success.
It needs more women who are unapologetically themselves and brave enough to show the next generation what's possible.
