Awareness of Miracles
Finding Light in Loss: How Faith, Miracles, and Compassion Transform Tragedy Into Purpose
At times, it's essential to embrace the mindset of a child, where wonder and curiosity guide us through the world around us. Rather than seeking answers to every question, allow your inner child to marvel at life's extraordinary moments. The concept of miracles has captivated theologians, scientists, and philosophers for centuries. While some see miracles as divine manifestations and others as scientific coincidences, many attribute these transformative events to the power of prayer. From my perspective, prayer and faith are deeply intertwined, walking hand in hand on a profound journey.
At Adoption Solutions of Arizona, in my daily life, I witness miracles in their most breathtaking form-- the birth of newborns. As an openly faith-based agency, we operate on the conviction that every life is a miracle. Our mission is led by our Executive Director, Jackie Komar, whose own life was touched by the "miracle" of adoption as an adoptive mother to six children. Her personal journey serves as the cornerstone of our empathetic approach.
Expectant birth mothers often come to us feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. We offer them compassionate support, resources, and a clear path forward, illustrating the miracle of life as it unfolds.
As a designated Safe Haven provider, we also witness "Safe Haven miracles"-instances where infants are safely and legally surrendered, providing a secure, non-judgmental "soft place to land" for babies in crisis. The atmosphere at Adoption Solutions of Arizona is tranquil. Upon entering, you're greeted by a serene environment adorned with joyful baby pictures of smiles. A courtyard filled with lush plants and majestic trees creates an inviting oasis for reflection.
Within these walls, our staff has experienced countless miracles that have deepened our faith, and we see how that faith provides birth mothers with solace and strength. Miracles, staff, handwork, faith, and prayer are the threads that connect our birth mothers with their adoptive families. Director Jackie Komar finds adoptive parents for birth mothers through prayer, patience, instinct, and the willingness to follow our motto, "We help babies find a soft place to lay their heads."
The depth of a miracle is truly felt the moment an adoptive family finally gathers their baby into their arms. As that child grows, the miracle doesn't fade; it blossoms into a new miracle every single day, reflected in the light of their little one. It is a beautiful, soul-stirring reminder that we each hold a sacred responsibility to nurture a brighter, more loving future for one another and the precious children of this world.
Together, through the grace of prayer, the compassion of Adoption Solutions of Arizona, and our unwavering support for one another, we have the power to weave our own miracles into existence. -reinforcing the idea that we all have a role to play in nurturing a better future for each other and our children.
Transformation of Faith
He was 15. Only fifteen, only fifteen. When the world broke apart for me.
A hit-and-run, in 2003, that tore the breath from my heart.
My youngest son, Michael, with compassion stitched into his soul
A boy who never judged? A single person. He saw every human whole.
He loved no limits as an adventurer without needing a cause.
He saw goodness where others saw flaws.
Michael carries kindness like sunlight, warmth, steady, true,
A gift he gave freely and everything he did
The day he was taken, the sky collapsed into gray.
Every second after, I felt a lifetime away.
A man who hit him. he vanished. No name. No face. No trace.
The question that haunted me. Every quiet. Every space
The police searched for answers, but none could be found.
I felt rage in Heartbreak, wrestling deep underground.
I knew holding anger would only poison my soul.
So, I placed it in God's hands, the only place I felt whole.
I spoke, Lord, I can't carry this. I can't chase what I haven't seen.
I give you justice: the sorrow, the space in between.
In the surrender. Something inside me began to rise.
Michaels. Spirit stayed with me, in whispers, in dreams.
In the quiet moments where grief softens at the seams.
In the after, still echoes and the gentleness still guides.
A reminder that love never leaves; it simply shifts sides.
Slowly, painfully, I've learned how to breathe.
I had to rise from the wreckage. And came to believe finally.
That my story wasn't over; my purpose wasn't done.
I could honor my child. By helping someone
I stepped up. Into the world with a mission reborn.
A mother rebuilt from the wreckage of a storm.
I became a social worker, not by chance, but by call.
To the others from shadows, to help them stand tall.
I've held hands trembling from addiction and cruel fights.
I've sat with broken women in the darkness of the night.
Every soul I help, every life I see through,
Feels like a promise I'm keeping with Michael too.
I saw many mothers hold the baby they never thought they would.
I've held someone trembling in tears who needed the strength to do good.
We help babies find a soft place to lay their heads.
So, mothers can read the book
Goodnight Moon to bed
His kindness lives in me and the work that I do.
In the way I see people, the way he always knew.
He taught me compassion. He taught me to forgive.
I'm not just a mother who survived the worst day.
I'm a woman who rose in a powerful way.
I am the faith-forged empire
. The courage shaped my loss
Testament. To grace that carried his cross.
Justice on earth never came to my door.
I trust God with the answers I may never explore.
Because peace isn't found in the things that we can prove.
It's found in the string to let God move..
