Baggage We Build
Part 2 of a short series on choosing character over what is convenient.
Growth requires accountability.
It asks us to examine our decisions—the good, the bad, and the indifferent. It requires us to acknowledge when someone has hurt us while also being honest about the moments when we could have handled things differently.
Accountability is not about carrying shame. It is about learning.
Every mistake does not have to become part of our identity. Every painful experience does not have to harden us. Every disappointment does not have to change the way we treat the next person.
We can honor our experiences without allowing them to define us. We can recognize the lesson without continually replaying the pain. We can make different choices without losing compassion for ourselves or others.
The goal is not to pretend that life hasn't changed us. It has.
The goal is to make sure it changes us into people who are wiser, more discerning, and more intentional—not people who are closed off, jaded, or afraid to grow.
Take the lesson. Keep the wisdom. Continue growing.
