BREAKING THE SILENCE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
Breaking the Cycle: Why Love Should Never Mean Pain
Sometimes the one who loves you is the one who hurts you the most. Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break. It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt and break a familiar pattern of abuse.
What would you do if your little girl looked up at you and said, "Daddy? My boyfriend hit me." What would you say to her?
What if she came to you and said, "My husband tried to rape me, Daddy. He held me down while I begged him to stop because he was hurting me! But he swears he'll never do it again. What should I do, Daddy?"
What would you say to her if the man she loves with all her heart ever hurt her again? Would you tell her to leave him? Would you tell her that she's worth SO much more and beg her not to go back, no matter how much he tells her he loves her? She's worth SO much more.
Abuse and domestic violence should NEVER hurt!
