Broken Colors Still Color
A Reminder That Your Brokenness Does Not Define Your Worth or Your Purpose
Broken Colors Still Color
There are seasons in a woman's life when she no longer feels like the person she once was.
Something has changed.
Perhaps disappointment broke through her confidence. Perhaps grief altered the way she sees the world. Perhaps betrayal left cracks in places she believed were secure. Perhaps life did not unfold according to the picture she had carefully drawn for herself.
The colors she once carried so freely may no longer seem as bright.
Her joy may feel faded.
Her courage may appear worn.
Her hope may seem scattered into pieces too small to gather.
She may look at herself and wonder whether anything beautiful can still come from a life that has been bent, bruised, interrupted, or broken.
But Broken Colors Still Color
A crayon does not lose its ability to create simply because its paper has been torn away. It does not become useless because it has been snapped in half, worn down, or pressed too hard against the page. Though its shape may have changed, its purpose remains.
It can still leave a mark.
It can still fill an empty space.
It can still become part of something beautiful.
The same is true of a woman who has endured difficult seasons.
Her brokenness does not erase her value.
Her wounds do not cancel her purpose.
Her disappointments do not make her incapable of creating beauty, offering love, sharing wisdom, or making a difference.
She may not color in the same way she once did.
Before the pain, she may have moved with innocence. After the pain, she moves with understanding.
Before the loss, she may have offered encouragement from what she believed. After the loss, she offers encouragement from what she has survived.
Before the breaking, she may have known hope as an idea. After the breaking, she knows hope as a decision.
There Is a Kind of Beauty That Can Only Be Created by Someone Who Has Learned How to Keep Living After Life Has Not Been Gentle
She knows how to sit beside another woman without rushing her healing.
She knows how to recognize silent pain because she has carried her own.
She understands that strength is not always loud, polished, or perfectly composed.
Sometimes strength is simply getting out of bed.
Sometimes it is trying again.
Sometimes it is refusing to let one painful chapter become the conclusion of an entire life.
Broken colors may leave different strokes, but different does not mean less beautiful.
In fact, some of the richest colors are created through pressure.
The deepest shades emerge when something has been layered, blended, stretched, and worked into the page. What once seemed imperfect becomes texture. What once appeared damaged becomes depth.
A Woman's Story Can Become the Same
The places she once tried to hide may become the very places from which she serves.
The tears she once believed were wasted may water compassion.
The experiences she thought had disqualified her may become the foundation of her influence.
The voice that once trembled may become the voice that tells another woman, "You are not alone."
Perhaps You Do Not Feel Whole Today
Perhaps you are still gathering the pieces of what you thought your life would be.
Perhaps your confidence has been broken, your plans have been interrupted, or your heart has been worn thin by carrying more than anyone knows.
Do not mistake brokenness for emptiness.
There is still color within you.
There is still wisdom within you.
There is still love, purpose, creativity, strength, and possibility within you.
You may need to color more slowly now.
You may need to rest between strokes.
You may need to learn how to hold your life differently.
But you are not finished.
You still have something to give.
You still have pages to fill.
You still have beauty to create.
And one day, you may look back and realize that the picture became more meaningful not because every color remained untouched, but because even the broken ones were used.
Broken colors still color.
Broken women still rise.
Broken hearts still love.
Broken dreams can still make room for new ones.
And broken pieces, placed in the hands of God, can still become part of something breathtaking.
