From Dreams to Action: The Moment Everything Changed
Chapter 3: The Fire Inside (Page 3)
The dreams in my notebook didn’t stay on paper for long. They started whispering to me while I worked, while I cooked, even while I lay in bed staring at the ceiling. The whispers turned into a question I couldn’t ignore:
“What are you going to do about it?”
One day, I answered.
I remember sitting in the break room during my lunch hour, scrolling on my phone. Most days I’d waste time on social media, but that day, something told me to search:
“How to start a business in caregiving.”
I didn’t know why those words came out of me, but maybe it wasn’t random. Maybe it was destiny.
Page after page loaded with information. Licensing, permits, requirements. It all looked complicated—overwhelming, even. For a moment, I felt that old fear creeping in: You can’t do this. Who do you think you are?
But then I thought about every night I cried in silence, every bill my mom paid because of the money I sent, every piece of myself I gave away to survive. And I told myself:
If I can survive that, I can learn this.
So I started reading. Taking notes. Watching videos late at night while the rest of the world slept. My journal filled with steps, plans, and big, impossible dreams that suddenly didn’t feel so impossible anymore.
It wasn’t easy. There were days I wanted to quit before I even began. But every time doubt came knocking, I remembered the promise I made to myself:
You’re not here to quit. You’re here to rise.
And for the first time in years, I felt it in my bones—I wasn’t just living anymore.
I was building a life that would matter.
