I believe showing respect is the first step toward gaining respect. As a manager, you have the ability to either manage or lead. I choose to lead by example.

The associates I work with feel a greater sense of respect when I roll up my sleeves and get in the trenches with them rather than simply delegating tasks. So much more gets accomplished when we work together.
