Dreaming of Giants on the Beach
Embracing Your Inner Giant: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Destiny
The other night, I had the strangest dream. I dreamt I was a giant standing with my twin sibling on the beach. We looked out upon the sunlit sky and horizon. The sky was blue, and the water was clear blue, too. The sand was white like snow. My brother said to me, "You can go anywhere you wish from here." I contemplated the statement and believed that I had been in Mongolia as I looked over the horizon and could see forever, it seemed. Strange dream, I know.
After awakening from this dream, I contemplated it and took a deeper introspection into this amazing dream. I thought about me, and I thought about you. I thought about life and how we are each the giant masters of our destiny. We are each in control of our choice of destination. It is easy from here to see that the steps you and I take today make for where we will be tomorrow.
To feel as though I was standing on top of the world and looking out into the horizons gave me motivation and a deeper awareness of my reality. A reminder that I am temporarily and presently stationed in life at a stepping stone. A temporary stepping stone to the next destination. Although I do not have a ticket with a printed destination on it, I do have the drive and the motivation to be the best I can today with the choices I have made from yesterday. As my choices today will show themselves tomorrow.
I believe I am smarter today than yesterday, as the choice I made yesterday got me to today. I have had trials and tribulations. It is I, the master in disguise, who creates the reality that surrounds me. You have this choice as well.
I am uncertain about publishing this article, as it is more of a journal expression of my thoughts rather than a concrete historical review, etc. Possibly, it is my way of connecting with you again. To remind you and me that we are all not that different. We each are masters of our journey, of our destinations. Whether it be at the beach, in Mongolia, or in the good old USA.
Possibly, this is just me, sitting down with you, having a cup of tea. Strangers are just friends we haven't met yet. But maybe...just maybe...you and I have more in common than just a writer's head.

Giants on the Beach
I stand as a giant on the beach,
Looking out over the sea,
Wondering what is in this life for me.
I contemplate and renegotiate,
Aware that this life is not all about me,
But about how I can touch your soul
With a smile or a handhold.
Master in Disguise
I stand grounded on two feet and watch the sunrise.
The steps I am about to take are not written or performed by mistake.
I live my life as I improvise,
Taking steps so that I don't reprise a demise.
Dreaming of my self-worth
As I stand in transformation,
A rebirth.
Dreaming of being a giant on the beach,
Foreseeing my future with a reach.
Sometimes the future is better left unknown
As I strive with pride for the life I earn.
Taking steps forward is the advice I teach:
Love the life you lead,
For you and I are the masters.
Our destiny is not out of reach,
Only a choice we make in action and in speech.
