Everything Is Working Out for Me (Even When It Doesn’t Feel Like It)
How to shift from scarcity thinking to abundance when life doesn't go as planned.
It’s easy to talk about shifting your mindset.
It’s harder to practice it consistently.
I’ve written before about scarcity and abundance—how we can either believe there isn’t enough (time, money, opportunities, recognition) or trust that more is available than we can see.
And then life gives you a chance to practice what you preach.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had unexpected opportunities land in my lap. The kind that make you pause and think, Wow. I didn’t even see that coming.
And then, almost just as quickly, a few things I was really hoping for fell through.
My mind instantly wanted to stay with what didn’t work out.
That’s the pull of scarcity—the quiet voice that says, See? Maybe that was your shot. Maybe there isn’t more coming. Maybe this is it.
But the practice—the real practice—is interrupting that spiral.
Instead of spiraling into what didn’t work out, I’m choosing to remind myself:
Nothing is being taken from me. Space is being created.
Space for alignment. Space for clarity. Space for opportunities that fit the life I’m actually building, not just the one I imagined. It’s easy to assume that when an opportunity disappears, there isn’t another one waiting.
But what if that “no” is actually creating room?
As much as we think we can, we can’t be everywhere. We can’t do everything. And if we’re honest, we don’t actually want to.
The yes’s and the no’s shape us. They clarify us. They remind us who we are and where we want to be.
So instead of asking, Why didn’t that work out?
I’ve been asking:
What is my life trying to make room for right now?
Not because it erases disappointment—but because it returns me to trust. And trust—in yourself, in timing, in possibility—is what keeps you moving forward.
Keep being you. It’s enough.
