Finding My Voice: From Hospitality Leader to Author, Podcaster, and Community Advocate

Leadership often begins long before a title is earned. It begins in the moments that challenge us, shape us, and ultimately inspire us to help others. As I reflect on this chapter of my life, I am humbled by how many unexpected opportunities have emerged—not because I had all the answers, but because I was willing to continue growing, learning, and saying yes to new possibilities.

Leadership Through Service

For more than two decades, my professional journey has been rooted in hospitality. Throughout my career, I have learned that leadership is not simply about managing operations or achieving goals. It is about serving others, building meaningful relationships, and creating environments where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Today, I am excited to be pursuing three new opportunities that reflect that belief in leadership through service.

Welcome Home: After the Storm

The first is the writing of my upcoming book, Welcome Home: After the Storm – A Story of Healing, Leadership, and Finding Where I Belong. This project is deeply personal. Through its pages, I share lessons learned from life’s challenges, personal growth, leadership experiences, family struggles, and the resilience required to navigate difficult seasons. My hope is that readers will discover that even after life’s storms, healing, purpose, and belonging are possible.

Writing a book has been both exciting and vulnerable. It has required me to reflect on experiences that shaped me while finding the courage to share those lessons with others. More than anything, I hope the book reminds people that our greatest challenges often become the foundation for our greatest growth.

A Podcast on Leadership and Resilience

In addition to writing, I am also developing a podcast focused on leadership, personal growth, resilience, and authentic conversations. Some of the most powerful lessons I have learned have come from listening to the experiences of others. Through this podcast, I hope to create a space where people can share their stories, inspire one another, and explore what leadership looks like in everyday life.

Leadership is not reserved for executives, business owners, or public figures. It can be found in parents raising children, employees supporting their teams, volunteers serving their communities, and individuals overcoming personal obstacles. Every person has a story worth sharing, and every story has the potential to impact someone else.

Secretary, Board of Directors – Greetings to Meetings

Most recently, I was honored to accept the position of Secretary on the Board of Directors for Greetings to Meetings. This opportunity represents another meaningful step in my leadership journey. Greetings to Meetings brings together professionals, community leaders, and organizations to foster relationships, collaboration, and growth throughout our region.

I am grateful for the trust placed in me and excited to work alongside an incredible group of individuals who share a passion for serving others and strengthening our community. Their dedication, vision, and commitment to making a difference inspire me, and I look forward to contributing to the organization’s continued success.

While these opportunities may appear different on the surface, they are all connected by a common purpose: helping people connect, grow, and find encouragement through leadership and community.

Our Stories Matter

As women, we often underestimate the value of our experiences and the impact our voices can have on others. Yet our stories matter. Our challenges matter. Our leadership matters. This season of my life has taught me that growth often happens when we step outside of our comfort zones and embrace opportunities we never imagined possible. Whether through writing, speaking, serving, or simply showing up for others, we all have the ability to make a difference.

I am incredibly thankful for the mentors, colleagues, family members, and friends who have supported me along the way. Their belief in me has helped make these opportunities possible.

Trust Your Journey

As I look ahead, I am excited not only for what I am building, but for the people I hope to serve, encourage, and inspire through these endeavors. If there is one lesson I would share with other women pursuing their goals, it is this: do not wait until you feel completely ready. Trust your journey, embrace growth, and have the courage to use your voice. You never know whose life may be changed because you choose to share your story.
