Finding Peace Within

For many women, the journey of pregnancy—especially when carrying the weight of past trauma—can feel like navigating a storm. Adoption Solutions of Arizona is a haven where you can talk with someone during this transformative time and rest when you need to. Our compassionate staff offers support based on personal experience; we are here to uplift you.

Your body is changing, your emotions are heightened, and the world can feel overwhelming. Meditation offers a sanctuary, a way to gently release tension and find a quiet space within yourself.

The following story invites you to embark on a vivid visualization of this journey: Picture a winding path that meanders through rocky ridges of anxiety, each step representing a moment of struggle and doubt. As you continue along this path, it gradually leads you to a cozy cabin bathed in warm light, symbolizing your inner peace. This imagery reminds you that even in the darkest moments, a glimmer of light awaits discovery, guiding you toward hope, healing, and tranquility.

Meditation can bring peace and enlightenment. As I listen to a teacher set the scene, I feel the journey begin. The start of meditation is challenging yet stimulating, full of possibility. It triggers a profound voyage into the subconscious. As the practice begins, I feel my soul emerge, spiritual and focused, embarking on an unknown journey toward healing.

We each follow our own path; I hope this one is mine. Grasping my soul, I start this magnificent, mystical journey, filled with emotion and excitement. I can feel the cold rock through my blue jeans as I sit cross-legged on the mountain ridge. The orange sun slips below the horizon, like a nightgown being pulled over a newborn baby.

As I look across the miniature town below, I notice a single cabin in the distance that remains dark. As I concentrate, I sense a presence behind me. An old man appears. He speaks with quiet authority:

"You will see God tonight."

Overwhelmed by the moment, I close my eyes for a second, and the illusion of the man fades into the air. Though stunned, I begin to walk down the rocky mountain path, his words echoing in my mind.

Amid a garden of unique, mystical flowers, I spot a small brown puppy. I pick him up lovingly, snuggling him to my chest. The flowers emit an aroma so overwhelming that it feels as though I am submerged in fragrance.

Reaching the bottom of the path, I search for the dark cabin through the firefly-lit atmosphere. I creep toward it, feeling a tingling in my fingertips and hearing only the soft breathing of the puppy.

Entering the cabin, I feel hypnotized. Inside, by candlelight, an ancient woman sits in a rocking chair, surrounded by those same mystical flowers.

"Come in," she says, her voice awakening the puppy. "You need to find what you have lost."

I cross the stone floor toward the glowing fireplace, my eyes fixed on a large wooden cross on the wall that radiates pure power. I place the puppy among the flowers at its base. The cross has an incandescent glow. I reach out and feel the warmth of its smooth surface. I try to become one with it, but I feel unworthy and slide back into my body.

When I look again, everything seems different yet perfect. I kneel to pick up the puppy, and my fingers brush the cross. A spark like lightning shoots down my arm, making me feel truly alive. The flowers feel like silk, and their scent is like heaven.

The old woman is gone.

I sit on the hard floor to reflect. The puppy remains calm among the flowers, as if he were sensing my anxiety. I cross my legs, watching the fire dance until the flames fade. Seeing my reflection on the cross is like looking into a mirror.

I listen to my surroundings, searching for an answer, before falling into a deep sleep among the holy flowers. When I wake up, my legs tingle, but I feel renewed. Cradling the puppy and carrying a few flowers, I walk back through the town.

I hear the world around me: a door shutting, a bird singing, a cat meowing. I climb back up the mountain, observing a chipmunk, a rabbit, and a deer that lets me pet its soft fur. I feel carefree, embracing nature's beauty as if seeing it for the first time. The landscape is a sculpture of fine art.

Back at my starting point, I place the puppy down.

As the sun sets, the older man reappears.

"Did you see God last night?" he asks.

"I saw God everywhere," I reply.

He fades away, and I hear the old woman's voice:

"You need to find what was lost."

"I forgot what is important," I answer. "Now I have found it."

The important things are all around us every day; you must look inside yourself to see them. Inner contentment is the goal, and that peace radiates outward for the world to see.

If only we could transport ourselves back to something simple, we could turn the world into paradise. Loving yourself and reaching out to others can create a reality like the Garden of Eden. As it is said, "I have given you every plant and animal; all you see is excellent."

Meditation is the key to that peace. I listen as the teacher sets out the surroundings, and the journey begins again.

Coming back from that journey, we realize that the peace we seek isn't found in a far-off place but within our own hearts. For the mother-to-be, this inner stillness is a gift not just for herself but also for the life growing inside her.

It reminds us that healing is a daily practice of noticing the beauty in the small things—a puppy's breath, a bird's song, or a quiet sunset.

When we heal our own souls, we create a paradise for the next generation. As it is written in Philippians 4:7:

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Through meditation, we allow that peace to take root, shielding our little ones and us as we move forward in strength.

Am I Near Yesterday

Call me home across the scarlet night,

Linger in the quiet of Your grace.

Though the warmth of Your smile fades

into the glow of golden light,

I am near.

I will not fear.

In the silence, I am listening—

A child beneath the night breeze.

Thousands of leaves blow,

lost or hidden,

until it seems

Your words are gone.

But neither hope nor pain remains,

and I have not perished.

Today, my miracles will marvel.

I will cry, for this is goodbye.

My eyes can see, yet I see nothing.

Nothing is everything

when my lungs forget to breathe.

As I meditate, I ask:

Can I die?

In the absence of space,

I find my life.

I live in the now of yesterday.

In the now

of yesterday.
