From Kitchen Roots to Regional Leadership: A Culinary Journey of Purpose and Perseverance
From Culinary Arts to Corporate Leadership: A Journey of Passion, Resilience, and Growth
I began my journey at Johnson & Wales University, where I earned my Culinary Arts degree. That foundation gave me more than technical skill-it taught me discipline, creativity, and the importance of staying true to my craft.
Soon after graduating, I stepped into leadership early in my career as a General Manager, where I opened and operated for units in the Miami International Airport. It was a fast-paced environment that demanded strong business acumen, people leadership, and flawless execution. It was here that I learned one of my greatest professional lessons: success doesn't come from comfort-it comes from challenge.
With a growing passion for entrepreneurship, I took a leap many only dream about: I opened my own catering business. I developed original recipes, built a client base, and sold my creations to cafes, bringing my own culinary identity to life. It wasn't just a business-it was proof that taking risks can open doors to new opportunities.
When I became a mother, I chose to pause my career for a year to focus fully on my family and my son. That time grounded me. It reminded me of who I am-not just as a professional, but as a woman with purpose, resilience, and heart. When I returned to the industry, I came back stronger.
I re-entered foodservice and worked my way up from the ground again-this time not just as a chef, but as a businesswoman ready for the next level of impact. Through grit and determination, my role grew into a manufacturer representative and today I am proud to manage the entire Caribbean region for a global company in the food industry. I also serve as an active member of the Lamb Weston Chef Council, helping influence culinary innovation and strategy across markets.
A Message to Young Women Dreaming Bigger
If there is one message I could leave for women-especially young women starting their journeys-it's this:
Dreams don't work unless you do.
See your vision through-even when it's hard. Don't fear mistakes or failure: they are simply the ingredients of success. Every setback teaches you, shapes your, and builds the foundation you will one day stand proudly on.
Dream with purpose, Work with passion. Believe relentlessly.
When you commit to your goals-truly commit-there is nothing you cannot achieve.
