How I became The Snow Moon Girl
The Legend of the Snow Moon Girl -
My story begins very differently from that of most infants.
I arrived during a snowstorm on a full Snow Moon, at an old two-hundred-year-old plantation deep in the South.
There was one knock at the door at twilight. I wasn’t abandoned—I was blessed by two elderly, ancient ancestors who heard that knock and assumed it was the storm, perhaps a tree limb striking the door.
The nearly eighty-year-old great-grandmother and the elder approaching one hundred, sipping their coffee, sensed that the knock wasn’t a falling limb, but something different—and unexpected in a snowstorm.
As the old saying goes, “Anything can happen on a Snow Moon,” and that rang true. They opened the frozen door and found me. That is how I became the Snow Moon baby. Though I grew up with what seemed like small odds of survival, living with those two ancients shaped me into who I am today.
My life was extraordinary, challenging, and filled with mystery—one that was never fully solved. Yet it became a beautiful story, a collection of treasured blessings that unfolded into a stream of intriguing adventures. Those adventures ultimately led to a franchise of books that feel like a fairytale.
A young adult series invites both the young and the old to enjoy mysteries of a child who ventures into the unknown, discovering secrets that reach back six hundred years.
Ancient and ancestral mysteries live in a world many have forgotten, woven through Altman family ties.
Growing Up as the Snow Moon Girl is a journey through time.
