Let Your Lipstick 💄 Do All The Talking Part 1 Elaine Elle Espinosa ©️ 2026 new revise part 1

A Lonely Holiday Season and an Unlikely Dream in the Big City

Kansas ...

Coming from a wholesome and humble lifestyle in Kansas, one can only dream of going to New York and living the dream, where any possibility can happen. As I was getting ready to go to work and putting on my favorite red đź’„ lipstick, I looked at myself in the mirror and said to myself, "You know, you look beautiful, but soon you will get older. How will you look then? Can you get away with wearing the famous, iconic red lipstick? đź’„"

It was a self-talk moment I said out loud in the mirror while I was leaning over the bathroom sink, looking at myself closely. As I looked at myself each morning in the mirror and put on my famous red lipstick đź’„, which I believe not many ladies can get away with wearing, I smiled and said to myself, "You got this, gorgeous." But a sense of insecurity took place within me.

I could not explain why I was feeling this way-a feeling of loneliness and sadness. But I knew Christmas was just around the corner, and there was this feeling of awkwardness, knowing I would be the only family member without a date or a companion. And families will be talking behind your back. That's a no-brainer.

Believe me, families know. And let's not forget that one family member who says, "So, Valerie, when in the future are you going to meet Mr. Right? You're close to 40 now!" As if my love life was about to expire a few days before New Year's Eve.

Families, especially during the holidays and Christmas, always talk about how this particular cousin made a powerful career for himself, or how she got engaged to a high-status man, or how this kid got the greatest grades known to mankind, as if the Oscar Awards were taking place at my parents' house. And for some reason, when it came to me, it was always, "Valerie, you're 40. Seriously, you need to find someone."

I never liked family gatherings, but it was the only way to keep my parents happy and avoid trouble. I had my own place, so I could easily say I wasn't coming, but it was Christmas, and I knew my parents would be hammering me for not going to the family Christmas gathering until the day I took my last breath-if they lived that long...

The next day, I decided I was going to go online and check out one of those dating apps and maybe find someone. But instead, I found myself watching TV and watching my celebrity crush. Yeah, I know. We all have that one celebrity crush we only dream about. But this unrealistic vision gave me a better idea, and it may sound crazy and unrealistic, but maybe, just maybe, it might work...

Since now we have Instagram, Threads, Twitter, and Facebook, where public figures can really connect with people, why not message my celebrity crush on the Threads app? Maybe, just maybe, he might notice me.

But inside my mind, my mental insanity was saying, "Valerie, are you crazy? Do you realize that there are thousands of female fans just as crazy as you trying to message him? Plus, I'm sure there are people who work for him and respond to fan accounts accordingly."

I knew better. Yes, I knew it too well. But what if-what if I wrote to him by mail with a photo of myself? Maybe he might notice me.

So, I decided to go on the Threads app and respond to one of his posts, and soon enough, I kind of went overboard...

Responding to almost all his posts sounded a bit desperate-more embarrassing than anything, or like a cry for help. I was definitely not in my "Play It Cool" mode.

Part 2 continues in the new revision.
