Loving Myself is a Choice
Embrace Change, Prioritize Growth, and Discover the Power of Self-Love One Step at a Time
To the woman who said, “Healing made me private, growth made me picky, and peace made me unbothered,” I salute you!
Sometimes, the advice you give to other people is the advice you need to follow yourself. Do you know what stops most people? Starting! Think about it for a moment: the start is what stops most people.
Change is inevitable, but it is also necessary. It is going to happen whether you embrace it or not. Never be afraid of change. I know that's easier said than done. Although you may lose something good, think about all the “better” you may gain. There is a breakthrough waiting for everyone on the other side of change.
I know, I know. Some of you are thinking, “This woman has no idea what I am going through, where I've been, or the mess that keeps hitting the fan.”
I can assure you, I've been through more than most people realize. Every step of the way, I had doubts and fears, and there were times when I wanted to give up. Through it all, not only did I learn something, but I also made it through every trial and test. I did not stay stuck.
Now, I'm living my life out loud, and you can too! I'm putting in the work, and I'm determined to help others realize that one step at a time is more than enough.
“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life!”
A quote beautifully expressed by Emma Stone.
If you've missed everything else I've said up to this point, just know this: the only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.
Go ahead. Make the decision. Change what you can. Start over if you must! After all, you are not starting from scratch; you are starting from experience.
One day, you will thank yourself for never giving up.
Tell Yourself These Things...
- My goal is to love myself.
- My goal is to trust myself.
- My goal is to care for myself.
- My goal is to believe in myself.
- My goal is to be good to myself.
- My goal is to cheer for myself.
- And starting today, I WILL focus on myself.
