All this time, I thought it was you,
Sitting out there in the stands.
The one rooting and roaring—
My Biggest Fan.
It came upon me as a surprise
As I closed my eyes.
This awareness rose inside.
My Biggest Fan.
This life matters most to the one on the inside.
The one keeping score,
Always wanting more.
She is a hard one to please.
No more hiding my own light.
My Biggest Fan.
All this time, I focused out there.
But now I see—
It's within me that the greatest strength resides.
My Biggest Fan.
This is my ticket—
This life I lead.
It doesn't matter who surrounds me.
It's that inner voice,
That inner critic,
Who begs and pleads.
My Biggest Fan.
On sunny days, I walk along the shore.
There is no ship coming.
No rescue boat afloat.
It's that quiet, subtle voice
That nudges and lifts me.
My Biggest Fan.
I sit in silence at the end of a long day.
No one is here to save me.
Not even the full moon rising
As I gaze out upon the windowsill.
It's always been something within
That responds with a thrill.
My Biggest Fan.
All along,
It's been within.
That courage that creates the brave.
No matter what you may face,
Look within.
There may not be a rescue ship coming.
But that's okay.
Because being unstoppable has more power
Than any boat,
Train,
Or jet plane.
