Part 5 Epilogue Pretty Wolverine Woman
A Travesty then Karmic Bliss
It was shortly after the ordeal that Sixapo renewed his friendship with
the beautiful widow, Pretty Wolverine Woman. They had known each
other for years, since she was a child as Sixapo was older than she. Now
the relationship took on a different aspect, one of love, respect and
devotion. Sixapo respected Pretty Wolverine Woman’s courage and
medicine power. He was in the sacred men’s society, the Horn Society,
and she was honored in the sacred women’s society, the Buffalo Society.
The double jeopardy aspect of Pretty Wolverine Woman’s ordeal came
into play when a reporter from New York City, U.S.A. arrived at the trial
to report something of interest of the city folks back home. Many
caucasians were interested in the situation with the Indians, some
compassionate some the opposite. But his agenda was to sell newspapers
so he misrepresented the trial completely. The evidence was clear that
Pretty Wolverine Woman was innocent of any activity or action that
would have caused the very sick and inebriated man to take those lives.
Knowing no-one from NYC would fact check his information, he told a
tale of an adulteress who cheated on her husband and drove him to
insanity causing the horrendous events to transpire. Many of the Kainai tribal members learned of that report and believed it.
There were many who shunned Pretty Wolverine Woman and many who
feared her due to her powerful position in the Buffalo Society. It was a
fear of many that to interact with any of the men and women in either
sacred society in a negative way would cause the member to use their
power to cause them to cease to exist. Unfortunately, Pretty Wolverine
Woman was not truly vindicated within the tribe.
But justice did prevail in her life as she married Sixapo and their union
brought them great happiness, family, abundance, greater spiritual
empowerment, and many years of a loving devoted relationship.
