Redefining Strength: How Heidi MacAlpine Is Helping Women Thrive From the Inside Out
A mother, healer, and entrepreneur blends science, movement, and compassion to empower women and families on a local and international level.
For more than three decades, Heidi MacAlpine has supported children and families as a pediatric occupational therapist, but her work has grown into something far more expansive. As the founder of Align OT, PLLC and the creator of Sensory Alignment Therapy®, she blends clinical expertise with creativity and heart, offering programs that serve both children and adults throughout Long Island. Partnering with local libraries, cancer care organizations, and senior centers, she delivers adaptive movement, fall prevention, and community wellness initiatives designed to meet people exactly where they are.
Motherhood transformed her mission. Raising three children while building a business revealed how many women quietly operate in survival mode. That realization reshaped her leadership philosophy: success isn’t about doing more — it’s about managing energy, honoring boundaries, and building flexible systems that reflect real life.
To better support women through life’s changes — from pregnancy and postpartum recovery to caregiving, illness, and career transitions — Heidi pursued advanced certifications in pre- and postnatal coaching, trauma-informed yoga therapy, somatic coaching, and women’s fitness. Her work integrates research-backed strategies with practical tools such as myofascial release, intentional breathing techniques, and the Unyte Safe and Sound Protocol to promote nervous system regulation and emotional resilience.
Having navigated her own health challenges, including Epstein-Barr, COVID, and cancer, she understands adaptation firsthand. Today, her programs don’t just address symptoms — they equip women and families with sustainable skills to rebuild strength, restore balance, and thrive with confidence and self-trust. The result is an improved quality of life that supports social, emotional, and physical well-being.
