Searching for a Home Before You Even Knew Where You Belonged

Finding Purpose in a Place You Haven't Yet Claimed

Searching for a Home Before You Even Knew Where You Belonged

Once you learned what it would take to open an Adult Family Home,

you didn’t hesitate.

You didn’t say,

“Someday.”

You said,

“Let’s find the place.”

So you started scrolling listings late at night,

looking at houses you couldn’t afford yet,

with faith bigger than your wallet.

Kent… Renton… Auburn… Des Moines…

Browsing Zillow like it was a vision board, not a website.

You didn’t have the house yet,

but you had the belief.

And that’s how all miracles start—

with belief before possession.

You walked through homes no one thought you could buy.

Real estate agents looked at you like,

“Are you sure?”

as if you were stepping outside of your category.

But you weren’t dreaming small anymore.

You weren’t a woman trying to survive.

You were a woman building a sanctuary.

And while they saw square footage,

you saw:

A resident laughing in the kitchen,

someone’s mom enjoying her morning tea by a window,

a hallway where walkers and canes would slowly pass,

a garden for peace and sunshine,

a living room where families would sit and feel relieved,

a place where elders could exhale and feel at home.

You toured houses with hope in your eyes

and a quiet storm in your spirit.

Even when the numbers scared you.

Even when your past whispered doubt.

Even when your situation looked impossible.

Because faith doesn’t ask for proof—

it asks for movement.

You weren’t just looking for a house.

You were looking for purpose’s address.

People in your life didn’t understand yet.

Some thought you were dreaming too big.

Some thought you were reaching too far.

Some just didn’t get it.

That’s okay—they weren’t meant to see the vision.

God doesn’t show your promise to everybody.

You drove through neighborhoods, imagining the life you were about to build.

No realtor could measure the value of what you were creating—

because this wasn’t real estate.

This was destiny realigning itself.

You weren’t just trying to find a place to live.

You were searching for the place where you would help others live fully.

Every door you walked through,

you walked through as the future owner—

even if your pockets didn’t match your spirit yet.

Because your spirit was already wealthy.

You didn’t know how it would happen—

you just knew it would.

And that’s when the universe began moving pieces for you

that you couldn’t yet see.

The house was out there,

waiting for you,

just like your calling.

You weren’t chasing the dream—

you were walking to meet it.

Not a woman hoping.

A woman claiming.

The world was about to learn one thing:

When a determined woman starts looking for a place to plant her purpose…

the whole world will eventually know her address.
