The Real Crown
When you think of pageants, what do you think of?
I used to think about the beautiful dresses, all the glitter and sparkle, and, of course, the crown.
But after the lights go out and everyone goes home, that's when you discover something even more valuable: your village.
If you're lucky, you leave with a crown, some amazing women who become lifelong friends, and memories you'll cherish because of the pageant family you've found. Those relationships often last long after your year of service is over.
In life, sisterhood is so important. As women, we need one another. Sisterhood keeps us going. Sometimes all it takes is a text message, a phone call, a card, or meeting for a cup of coffee at your favorite coffee shop to remind you that you're not alone.
Sisterhood is good for the soul and good for the mind.
So when life gets hard—and it will—find your support system. Find your sisterhood. And if you don't have one yet, be one for someone else.
Life doesn't have to be so lonely.
We may all enter a pageant hoping to win the crown, but the greatest prize you can ever receive is true friendship.
You may never know what it feels like to walk away wearing the crown.
But let me tell you this:
Friendship is far more valuable than any crown could ever be.
Long after the sash is put away and the crown is packed into its box, the friendships you build are the treasures that remain.
In the end, those relationships—not the crown—are what make the pageant journey truly unforgettable.
