The Audacity to Rebuild: When the Floor Becomes Your Foundation
From Homelessness to Hope: How One Woman Rebuilt Her Family and Found Purpose in the Ashes
There is a distinct, unforgettable sound when a woman's life changes overnight.
It's not always a loud crash. Sometimes, it's the quiet, heavy thud of a door closing, leaving you standing in a room full of scattered pieces, wondering how you are going to protect everything—and everyone—you love.
Just a year ago, I knew that exact feeling.
It was the moment my life completely shattered.
My ex-husband walked out, leaving me and my seven children behind while I was nine months pregnant with our eighth child. In an instant, the weight became suffocating. Not only was I dealing with the raw, fresh heartbreak of abandonment, but my children and I were suddenly facing the terrifying and immediate reality of homelessness.
Sitting in that darkness just twelve short months ago, wondering where my babies were going to lay their heads, I felt utterly lost. When you are carrying burdens that heavy, it is hard to believe the sun will ever rise again.
But looking back, I realize something profound: when you are completely broken, the floor you are lying on does not have to be your grave.
It can become your foundation.
Two Hearts, One Mission: The Power of Aligned Partnership
True legacy is forged when you find a partner who doesn't simply walk into your life but steps directly into the trenches with you.
That is exactly who my husband, best friend, and co-leader, Howie Alualu, became for me.
When we were at our absolute lowest, Howie reached into that fierce storm and pulled us out. He didn't just help me carry the weight; he restored my perspective and helped me believe in love, family, and covenant all over again.
Together, over the past year, we didn't just find shelter—we rebuilt our entire lives from the ground up.
Today, as a beautiful blended family of nine children, Howie and I stand side by side as a living testament to what happens when you refuse to let your hardest chapters define your final destination.
True resilience isn't a polished tagline. It's what happens when you look at a shattered situation, protect each other's peace, and commit fiercely to building something completely unshakable from the ashes.
From Personal Betrayal to the Altar of Purpose
Our journey from facing homelessness to anchoring our family in unshakable faith wasn't a straight path.
It was a masterclass in the divine pivot.
Experiencing that level of instability became the catalyst that led us to co-found Tables Turned Ministry: Rise From the Ashes and Bossplayah Haven.
We realized firsthand that people don't just need a program—they need a profound spiritual awakening that pulls them out of the wreckage. We have dedicated our lives to creating a true sanctuary for others.
When you've faced the threat of having nowhere to go, you understand that women and families don't simply need a shield to hide behind—they need a safe space to heal, to breathe, and to remember exactly who they are before stepping back out to conquer the storm.
We are here to break generational cycles and prove that you can inherit the deepest ashes and still build an empire of hope.
Lessons from the Trenches: Your Strategy for the Shift
If you are currently in a season of betrayal, financial strain, or deep isolation and are trying to figure out how to navigate your own storm, take these truths to heart:
- Your Current Season Is Not Your Conclusion: The enemy wants you to believe that because you are walking through a wilderness, your story is over. It is a lie. A setback is nothing more than a strategic setup for a remarkable turnaround.
- Protect the Circle That Protects You: Your ultimate weapon against adversity is alignment. Surround yourself with a community and partnerships that refuse to let you shrink. When you guard your peace, you become unstoppable.
- Weaponize Your Scars: Do not hide the messy chapters or the seasons of struggle. The very fire you walked through gave you the authority, empathy, and insight needed to pull someone else out of the heat.
The Blueprint Is About to Drop: Rise From Your Ashes
We are officially shifting out of the survival chapters and entering an era of execution.
Breaking generational chains, healing from deep abandonment, and turning tables require more than passion—they require a tactical blueprint.
In my next feature, Howie and I will share the exact, unfiltered realization that took us from merely surviving the fire to learning how to command it. It's a raw truth we've never shared publicly before, but it has become the driving force behind the remarkable transformation of our ministry, our family, and our lives over the past year.
If you are reading this while sitting in the wreckage of a shattered season, look around you.
Those broken pieces are not your grave—they are your building blocks.
Your story does not end in the valley; it is simply gathering the momentum needed to carry you to the mountaintop.
You have the authority to look at your storm and command it to stand still.
You have the power to break the chains that were meant to break you.
It is time to stop carrying these heavy burdens alone, step out of the trenches, and claim the empire of hope that belongs to you.
