The Forgotten Generation: A Call to Honor Our Elders
A powerful reminder that honoring our elders is not an obligation, but a reflection of our nation's soul.
The Forgotten Generation: A Call to Honor Our Elders
There is a generation in this country that carried the weight of America on their backs—
and somewhere along the way, we allowed them to be forgotten.
They are the hands that built our roads and cities.
The hearts that raised our families.
The voices that prayed and hoped for a better tomorrow.
And yet today, many of them sit waiting—
waiting to be seen,
waiting to be valued,
waiting to be remembered.
I refuse to let them disappear quietly.
In my home, elders are not “placed.”
They are welcomed,
celebrated,
respected,
loved.
They do not live out their final years—
they live fully in them.
This is not charity.
This is not duty.
This is honor.
And this is a call—to our nation, our families, our leaders, and our healthcare system:
Let us rise for the generation that once rose for us.
Let us build a culture where aging is not hidden, rushed, or feared—
but dignified, embraced, and protected.
Because a society that turns its back on its elders
turns its back on its own soul.
We are the generation that will change that.
One home at a time.
One elder at a time.
One act of love at a time.
And together—
we will remember them.
We will honor them.
We will serve them.
Because they earned it.
Because they deserve it.
Because we are better than forgetting.
