Will AI Recommend You?

How women entrepreneurs can get discovered by AI and land on the shortlist when customers ask chatbots for recommendations.

A customer needs exactly what you offer. They ask ChatGPT who to hire and get three names. Yours isn't one of them, and you'll never know the conversation happened.

This is how customers now choose. In a July 2026 Semrush survey of U.S. adults, 41% had bought something an AI chatbot recommended, and nearly half ask AI about a business before buying.

For women entrepreneurs, this is an opening. AI doesn't reward whoever posts the most. It draws on what the wider internet says about you: your reviews, your expertise, and how clearly you explain your work.

Five Steps to Get on the Shortlist:

  1. Ask AI about yourself. Search for your service the way a client would, and note who appears.
  2. Describe what you do in one specific sentence, and use it everywhere.
  3. Make reviews a habit. Ask happy clients to name the result you delivered.
  4. Answer your customers' top questions in plain language on your website and socials.
  5. Show up where AI learns: podcasts, guest articles, press quotes, and directories.

One warning: Don't let AI write your brand into sameness. If three competitors could have written your content, add your own stories.

Tonight, ask an AI about your business. Whatever it says is your starting point.
