Her Story

About Adaure

Adaure Anyanwu, M.S., is a Nigerian-American lifelong learner, entrepreneur, and future physician whose work sits at the intersection of science, healthcare, education, and self-empowerment. Driven by an early commitment to academic excellence, she has pursued advanced studies in biology, chemistry, business, and psychology, pairing her scientific foundation with a deep sense of responsibility to share knowledge and uplift others. This passion has led her into roles spanning tutoring, consulting, and hosting her self-improvement podcast, An Apo A Day, where she explores growth, wellness, and purpose. Adaure is the CEO and Founder of YooAdaCare LLC, a natural skincare and personal care brand born from her own journey with acne, confidence, and self-care. Leveraging her background in science alongside independently acquired expertise in marketing, psychology, content creation, and financial literacy, she transformed a personal challenge into a mission-driven business centered on the philosophy that “less is more.” YooAdaCare reflects her belief in evidence-based, accessible self-care—particularly for communities that are historically overlooked in skincare and wellness conversations. Alongside her entrepreneurial work, Adaure continues to build her career in healthcare and education through tutoring, healthcare education, internships, and ongoing business studies at Mercer University’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business. Grounded in faith, advocacy, and community impact, she is committed to growing not only as a professional but as a mentor and leader who empowers others to prioritize health, confidence, and lifelong learning.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Adaure

01What do you attribute your success to?

My faith in God. He's been my guiding light and rock through every obstacle, and my biggest cheerleader. He's also the person to create my support system on Earth, and I'm eternally grateful for that.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Life will not be a straight line. It will be filled with dips and divits, turns and dead ends. Prepare for the journey, not the destination.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I’d encourage young women entering this industry to plan intentionally, seek out mentors who are already doing the work you aspire to do, and truly learn the financial side of the business. Understanding both your craft and the numbers behind it is key to building something sustainable and successful.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the personal care industry is managing growth while self-funding, as limited financial resources can restrict investment in business development. At the same time, there’s a tremendous opportunity to build a brand that maintains high product quality and integrity while carving out a loyal customer base.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is at the center of everything I do, guiding both my professional work and personal life. I strive to uphold high standards in all my endeavors, whether running my skincare brand, hosting my podcast, or pursuing my studies.
