About Afrin
Afrin Shaik is a Program Manager, Release & Integration Lead at Ford Motor Company, bringing over nine years of experience across software engineering, product ownership, systems integration, and technology program management. Her career began in software development, where she built a strong technical foundation before expanding into product and program leadership roles across industries including retail, banking, and automotive. She has held positions with organizations such as Dell Technologies, Bank of America, and Rocket Mortgage, gaining expertise in application modernization, product strategy, and enterprise technology delivery.
In her current role at Ford Motor Company, Afrin leads large-scale SaaS platform initiatives focused on supply chain digitization and transformation. She manages end-to-end release and integration activities, coordinating global cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver complex enterprise solutions. Her responsibilities include program governance, roadmap alignment, milestone tracking, financial management, KPI monitoring, and ensuring successful deployments across multiple teams. She has played a key role in driving digital transformation efforts involving forecasting, inventory collaboration, risk management, compliance, and sustainability capabilities.
Afrin holds a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration and Management from Campbellsville University and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from JNTUH College of Engineering Hyderabad. She continues to expand her expertise in cloud technologies, earning Google Cloud skill badges in areas such as Streaming Analytics and BigQuery. I attribute my success to building a strong technical foundation across technology, product ownership, and management, which allows me to confidently collaborate with executive leadership and drive impactful decisions.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to stay committed to continuous learning and growth. The guidance of leaders, colleagues, and experienced technology professionals has helped shape my career and reinforced the value of ongoing development.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the technology industry is to recognize that you don’t need permission to lead. Build a strong technical foundation, stay curious, take initiative, and confidently share your perspective. Your voice and unique approach can bring clarity, structure, and strength to teams.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is the increasing complexity of multi-system integrations as organizations scale. However, this also creates opportunities for professionals who can bridge different roles, such as release management, program management, and integration, to drive alignment and success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in my work and personal life are continuous learning, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and resilience. I believe strong leadership comes from combining technical expertise with effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous growth.
