Alexis Bond

Alexis Bond is a dedicated educator and Teach For America Corps Member serving as a sixth-grade ELA and social studies teacher in Tolleson, Arizona. Now in her second year of teaching, she leads two classrooms and focuses on literacy, critical thinking, student confidence, and creating an inclusive environment where every learner feels respected and capable. As a sixth-grade team lead, Alexis also represents her grade level in leadership meetings, supports communication among teachers and administrators, coordinates activities, and mentors newer educators. Alexis’s path to education was shaped by diverse experiences, including several years in the hospitality industry and an internship with the Arizona State Legislature. As a Legislative Broadcast Intern, she helped produce and broadcast legislative sessions, tracked bills, and gained firsthand insight into public policy and government. That experience strengthened her interest in public service and ultimately influenced her decision to pursue education through Teach For America and AmeriCorps. She credits mentors who supported her transition into the classroom with helping her develop effective classroom-management and instructional practices. A summa cum laude graduate of Arizona State University’s Barrett, The Honors College, Alexis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, along with a minor in Psychology. Her undergraduate work included an honors thesis examining accessibility and affordability in life-saving veterinary care, as well as study-abroad experiences in France and Amsterdam that broadened her cultural and global perspective. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Elementary Education, with plans to transition into government or public-sector work beginning in 2027 and eventually attend law school, with interests in environmental or international law. Her commitment to education, public service, advocacy, and community impact continues to shape her evolving career.
