About Alice
Alice Burris is a dedicated criminal justice professional with a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Southern Indiana. Throughout her academic career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and scholarship, presenting her research proposal at the Graduate Student Colloquium and serving as the graduation student speaker for the Graduate Studies Program. Alice has also been actively involved in initiatives supporting women and social justice, including participation in Women Unlocked and serving as a spokesperson for Congregations Acting for Justice and Empowerment (C.A.J.E.).
With over a decade of hands-on experience advocating for children through Vanderburgh County CASA, Alice has been a steadfast voice for children deemed CHINS (Children in Need of Services) in the court system. In her role as Child Contact Specialist, she conducts monthly visits, prepares detailed reports, and ensures the best interests of the children are represented both in court and in their daily lives. Her dedication extends to community service, including long-term involvement with the Travis Davis Foundation, further demonstrating her commitment to empowering vulnerable populations.
Alice recently accepted a position with the State of Indiana as a Family Case Manager, where she will continue her mission of creating safe, nurturing environments for children impacted by neglect or abuse. Her career is marked by a combination of scholarly excellence, practical experience, and a deep passion for advocacy. Guided by her faith and a commitment to justice, Alice brings compassion, leadership, and unwavering dedication to every aspect of her professional and community work.
