Her Story

About Aline

Aline Alves is a Software anent resident originally from Brazil, she holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Centro Universitário UniMetrocamp in Campinas, along with academic training in Theology and Technical Writing from Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio, where she also completed an ESL exchange program between 2007 and 2009. Fluent in both Portuguese and English, Aline has spent more than fifteen years building a career defined by disciplined leadership and a deep commitment to quality, transitioning into the technology sector in 2013 after years of broader analytical and business experience. Over the course of her career, Aline has developed specialized expertise in software testing and defect management, working across system, functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing environments for major organizations including IBM, Deloitte, Google, BlackBerry, and Kimberly-Clark, among others. She is well-versed in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and skilled in tools such as Jira, HP Quality Center, and Jama. Beyond her technical proficiency, Aline is currently the founder and host of the Aline Global Technology Podcast, a platform she launched to explore digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and strategic tech leadership while championing ethical, human-centered innovation on a global scale. What distinguishes Aline most, however, is the philosophy she brings to her work: an unwavering belief that respect and patience are the true foundations of lasting professional relationships. Having spent over a decade cultivating trust with colleagues and clients across different cultures and continents, she approaches every new connection with curiosity and humility, understanding that meaningful business rapport cannot be rushed. As a woman navigating a global, often male-dominated industry, she has faced her share of cultural and linguistic barriers, yet she views these challenges as opportunities to deepen understanding and build bridges. Guided by integrity, honesty, and a strong moral compass, Aline continues to mentor others—particularly young women entering the tech field—encouraging them to embrace patience as they build their own paths to lasting success.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Aline

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being respectful in everything I do. Before entering into any business relationship, I make it a priority to genuinely get to know the other person first. Respect builds trust, and trust is what opens doors for me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

"Become a person of value, not just a person of success." — Albert Einstein

In practice, this means:

  • Focus on solving real problems for clients and organizations.
  • Keep learning and adapting, especially as AI transforms technology and quality engineering.
  • Build relationships and trust, because opportunities often come through your reputation.
  • Take ownership of your career and business, instead of waiting for others to create opportunities for you.
"Never stop learning, create value wherever you go, and have the courage to lead change before change forces you to."

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women to be very patient with themselves, because great things don't happen overnight. My own success took more than eleven years to build — the trust, the respect, the network — none of it happened quickly. You have to build it up step by step.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

As a woman in this industry, I face real challenges. In some countries, cultural norms mean there is little respect shown toward women. Language barriers and accents can also make communication more difficult. At the same time, technology is global, which creates real opportunity — but it requires patience to truly understand where people are coming from and what they are open to sharing.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, morals, and honesty are the values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally.
