Amalia Gutierrez

Amalia Gutierrez is a highly experienced surgical professional with over 33 years in the field, specializing as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) and surgical technologist. She has spent more than six years at MountainView Regional Medical Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico, assisting surgeons and nurses in a wide variety of procedures, including orthopedic, vascular, neurologic, and robotic surgeries. Known for her meticulous attention to maintaining a safe and sterile environment, Amalia ensures that equipment functions properly and that communication flows seamlessly among the surgical team, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to high-quality patient care.

In addition to her clinical work, Amalia has dedicated herself to educating the next generation of surgical technologists. She has served as a surgical technology instructor at Southwest University and North-West College, where she teaches courses in surgical anatomy, physiology, instrumentation, procedures, and patient care. She also supervises clinical rotations and lab sessions, equipping students with the practical skills and professional knowledge required to excel in the operating room.
