What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to building things from scratch, which is something I got from my grandfather. He immigrated from Pakistan to India right after the partition and built his own empire from scratch, and that really inspired me. When I was just a kid in school, I said that I want to be a CEO, when I didn't even know what the full form of a CEO was. I love building things from scratch, and some of my big achievements here include not just scaling the business from $5 to $50 million, but also launching different business divisions and scaling them from zero to $2 million for the first one, and zero to $8-10 million in the first year itself for the second one. Those are two different business divisions altogether. We typically do remodeling and construction, but we knew how to do just roofs and just windows and doors, so I expanded those territories and made two sister brands of the company and scaled them up. I think entrepreneurship and leadership runs in my family and background, and that foundation has been critical to my success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I credit my family, especially my entrepreneurial grandfather, as one of the greatest influences on my career. His example taught me the importance of resilience, hard work, and building something meaningful from the ground up. He inspired me to embrace challenges and approach every opportunity with an entrepreneurial mindset.
I have also learned valuable lessons from business leaders, colleagues, and mentors throughout my career who encouraged strategic thinking, innovation, and strong leadership. The best advice I have received is to stay curious, keep learning, and focus on creating value through consistent execution and continuous improvement.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to focus less on whether you are the only woman in the room and more on whether you are the most prepared, credible, and results-oriented person in the room. Success is built on preparation, expertise, consistency, and execution. When you consistently deliver strong results, your work speaks for itself and earns the respect of those around you.
I encourage young professionals to view differences as strengths rather than limitations. In industries where certain perspectives may be underrepresented, bringing a unique viewpoint can create tremendous value. I have found that diverse perspectives often lead to better solutions, stronger collaboration, and more innovative outcomes.
Most importantly, let your accomplishments define your reputation. Build credibility through measurable results, maintain a commitment to excellence, and approach every challenge as an opportunity to demonstrate your capabilities and create lasting impact.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I believe the greatest opportunity in marketing today is the advancement and adoption of artificial intelligence. While industries such as construction continue to rely on hands-on expertise that cannot be fully automated, marketing organizations can dramatically increase efficiency, scalability, and customer value through AI-powered systems and workflows.
In my own work, I have leveraged AI to automate processes, streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and deliver educational content at scale. These technologies allow marketing teams to accomplish significantly more while maintaining a strong focus on customer needs and business outcomes.
Rather than viewing AI as a disruption, I see it as an opportunity to modernize how organizations operate, improve productivity, and create better experiences for customers. The organizations that successfully integrate AI into their operations will be better positioned to innovate, grow, and remain competitive in an evolving marketplace.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are preparation, credibility, execution, accountability, entrepreneurship, and measurable results. I believe success comes from consistently delivering on commitments and maintaining a strong standard of excellence in everything I do.
I value building meaningful relationships, creating opportunities for others, and developing teams that can thrive independently. Whether leading a marketing organization, launching a new business initiative, or mentoring future leaders, I focus on creating systems and environments that encourage growth and long-term success.
Personally, I believe in giving back to the community, supporting emerging professionals, and helping create pathways for women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs. These values guide both my professional decisions and my approach to leadership, allowing me to make a positive impact beyond business performance alone.
