Ten minutes with Amy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to 30 years of dedication, hard work, and continuous growth in the financial leasing industry. I began my career as a sales assistant and steadily advanced to my current role as Assistant Vice President, overseeing operations, financial agreements, and a team while serving as the only woman in senior management. Although I attended Northern Illinois University for approximately a year, I discovered that I learned best through hands-on experience, and working in the field provided me with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed. My career progression has been one of my greatest professional accomplishments, and I am proud of the persistence, experience, and commitment that have shaped my journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received has come through the example and guidance of excellent mentors, Susan and Lyndon, who were strong advocates for my professional development. They believed in my abilities, encouraged me to pursue opportunities for growth, and helped me recognize my potential throughout my career. Their mentorship taught me the importance of believing in myself, continuing to learn, and embracing opportunities that challenge me to grow professionally.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the financial leasing industry is to believe in your abilities and understand that hard work, dedication, and perseverance can take you far. Even in a traditionally male-dominated field, there are opportunities to grow, advance, and build a successful career. Stay committed to learning, take on new challenges, and do not be afraid to pursue opportunities that allow you to demonstrate your capabilities. Your determination and willingness to work hard can open doors and help you work your way up in the industry.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry, particularly as the only woman in senior management. At the same time, I see this as an important opportunity to demonstrate that women can excel in leadership roles within financial leasing. My experience has reinforced the importance of confidence, professionalism, and perseverance, and I hope to help create greater opportunities for women to advance and succeed in the industry.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are hard work, dedication, and finding fulfillment in what I do. I believe in building a career in a field that I genuinely enjoy while maintaining a healthy appreciation for life outside of work. In my personal time, I enjoy antiquing and spending time in nature, especially the excitement of discovering unique and unexpected treasures. These interests remind me to stay curious, appreciate the journey, and make time to enjoy the experiences that bring me happiness and balance.
