Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, self awareness, and the courage to redefine my own story. After spending a decade mastering the art of connection through customer service, my true transformation began when I chose to reclaim my narrative by leaving a domestic violence situation with my daughters father and his substance abuse issues that were unrepairable at that time, and navigating my daughter’s medical needs with her Congenital Heart Defect with determination and love after two open heart surgeries. Those experiences compelled me to focus inward and intentionally build a new chapter for my family and myself. As a digital marketing student graduating this fall, I am pivoting from graphic design into a field where I can fully leverage my empathy, strategic thinking, and leadership. I am driven by the power of storytelling, giving voice to a company’s untold potential and helping define what is possible. With the support of my amazing husband, I am channeling a lifetime of resilience into building my own business from my career knowledge and pursuing my goal of inspiring and empowering women as a motivational speaker.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering this industry is to stay focused on learning, believe in your voice, and never let discouragement define your path. Keep your head in the books, don’t let anyone get you down, and remember there is no time like the present and it is never too late to start. I am not just studying marketing, I am learning how to tell my own story with confidence and purpose, and through that process I hope to show other women that their experiences, resilience, and perspective are powerful assets in building a meaningful and successful career.
