Her Interview
Ten minutes with Andrea N.
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the people who shaped how I see the world. My late father instilled in me the belief that life is meant to be lived in service to others, and that principle guides everything I do. My mother taught me something just as foundational: how to be fiscally responsible. She's a quiet, graceful presence, comfortable working behind the curtain rather than in front of it, and that steadiness taught me the discipline that makes service sustainable rather than sentimental.
My son has taught me the most about resilience. He's walked through one medical challenge after another with quiet strength, and he's proven, again and again, that being different is not being less. That truth shows up in how I coach, how I lead, and how I build. I don't just tell leaders that people are capable of more than they're given credit for; I've watched it happen in my own home.
When you combine that kind of care with a relentless focus on what actually works, performance follows. Serving people and driving results aren't competing goals; they multiply each other.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
There's power in the pause.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Put a plan together and work that plan. Don't think hard work is going to get you noticed or paid, you have to have certain tactics and strategies. You are enough & go for it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge right now is that everyone claims they're an expert. Do your due diligence. Have the information, know your craft and know what your doing.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are important to me in my work and personal life are power, service of myself and joy.
Altruism. Service above self. This is the foundation everything else is built on, the belief that we do our best work and live our fullest lives when we're oriented toward helping others succeed.
Power. Not power over others, but power over your own life. Power over your finances, your mental, physical, and spiritual health, your time. It's the kind of power that gives you freedom, flexibility, and agility, in your work and in your life. When you reclaim that power, you stop reacting to circumstances and start designing your own.
Joy. Happiness comes and goes, but joy is something no one can take from you. Since most of us spend the majority of our waking hours working, joy in that work isn't optional, it's essential. We believe people deserve to find real joy in what they do, not just tolerate it.
