About Angela
Angela Williams has spent over twelve years at Indiana Tech, with the past five years serving as Assistant Director of Accessibility Services. In this role she oversees academic and housing accommodations for students, provides education to faculty and staff on disability services, and has led efforts to achieve WCAG 2.1 compliance across campus digital resources. Prior to this she worked for nine years in financial aid at a couple of different institutions. Angela founded the Warrior Life program four years ago to help neurodiverse students transition to college life through early arrival, routine building, and ongoing support. Her drive stems from her own experience as a student with a disability who was told she would never attend college yet succeeded on her own, fueling her passion for untangling systemic barriers and proving doubters wrong.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Some of it has to come from when I was growing up, I was a student with a disability. I was told I would never go to college, but I did, and I went to college, I got a degree, I did it on my own. There was definitely that, you're not gonna do it, so I'm gonna prove you wrong. I'm going to do it, and I'm gonna do it better than what you even think I can do it. I like to untangle knots, and that's exactly what this entire area was.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My career, like, my degrees aren't in anything that I'm actually doing. Follow what you're enjoying. So, just because you have a degree in a specific thing doesn't mean that that's where you're going to stay. Don't be afraid to venture into the areas that are intriguing to you, because it brings... it will help bring you happiness in your career. And don't be afraid to make a splash.
